Rady Children's Hospital San Diego EEG Technician Trainee-50718 in San Diego, California

This is a Casual position with an anticipated assignment length through April 30, 2019 and subject to renewal thereafter.


Under the general supervision of the Manager, Specialty Clinics and an EEG Technologist in the department, the EEG Technician Trainee learns to perform EEG studies on pediatric patients in the laboratory and at the bedside of critically ill patients in intensive care units. Learns to provides all documentation and support services for testing, ensuring all ordered procedures are completed in an efficient and organized manner. Contributes best thinking and knowledge to the organization. Shares unique experiences, education, and insight with appropriate health care team members. Continues to learn and add to skills and education. Participates as a member of a health care team and performs additional duties, as required. With support, selects and administers appropriate interventions relative to age, developmental level and size of the patient.


High School Diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent

3 years of experience

Current BLS/CPR (must be issued by American Heart Association)

Must begin EEG training program within 3 months of hire, and develop skills at the EEG Tech I level within 1 year of hire

Basic computer skills in Windows


Current matriculation in an ENDT training program

Experience working with developmentally disabled patients
