San Diego, CA - Olympus Communication Technology of America (OCTA), a subsidiary of Olympus Corporation, is an R&D center dedicated to creating cutting-edge engineering solutions for Olympus products, mostly focused on industrial solutions, medical devices, and consumer electronics. We are looking for intern students for the 2018 summer season. The exact term is flexible. These students should be pursuing a major in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.

Must be current student with major in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, Master's or PhD students are preferred.
Background in digital signal processing, wireless communication, or wireless networking is required.
Experience is required in programming languages and simulator: Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, and Python.
RF propagation theory, 3D modeling (Solidworks), and EM simulation (HFSS, CST) experience is preferred.
Experience is preferred in networking algorithms with background e.g., in graph theory, optimization algorithms or other computer algorithms.
Knowledge in theories in RF propagation and RF MIMO for ranging is desired.
Knowledge in localization, navigation theory, and target tracking is preferred.

Multiple positions for summer of 2018 depending on the interest and background, the student may work in the algorithm design, hardware/software development, and/or performance evaluation in the one or more of the following areas:
Radio propagation and 3D modeling for large man-made objects
Massive IoT networking theory
Short range localization/tracking using various modalities
Sensor fusion for navigation
