The Junior Business Intelligence Developer position is a full-time employment opportunity. Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence the Junior Business Intelligence Engineer is a full-time position located in San Diego, California. This position is a key part of the Business Intelligence team which is responsible for delivering best-in-class analytical data solutions. Primary role will be participating in data warehouse projects and continuous process improvement, with opportunities to develop innovative solutions and explore new technologies.
Essential Job Duties:
Develop an understanding of the current end-to-end BI platform architecture in order to support the deployed solution.
Participate in the development lifecycle for Business Intelligence Solution Delivery
Design, build, document and manage data warehouse objects
Design and develop ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Assist with BI Solution (DBMS, SSIS, SSAS) development
Stay abreast of BI industry best practices and relevant new technologies
Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):
Develop reports using SQL Server Reporting Services
Manage and monitor the ongoing data-loads for dashboards
Develop tabular models using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
Perform requirements gathering and analysis
Ability to work independently (as well as within a team environment) and unsupervised
Ability to work a flexible day schedule required including occasional evenings
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
1+ years of experience using BI tools and reporting analysis or relevant school project work
Exposure to developing Business Intelligence solutions
Experience with data and data analysis
Strong communication skills to gather business/client requirements
Demonstrated experience in querying data (SQL) and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
Basic understanding of ETL and Procedural DB languages
Understanding of dimensional data structures and complex hierarchies
Basic understanding data visualization practices and methods
Recent receipt of Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
Knowledge of SSIS Package Design Patterns and Configuration
Developed Ad-hoc and standard Reports/Dashboards
SSAS tabular model development
Security implementation in databases and BI solutions
Some knowledge of data governance and data architecture
Experience in an Agile development environment
Demonstrated an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Bachelor's Degree required. Will consider candidates currently in their senior year pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or a related field or equivalent work experience

The employee will be required to make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations, grasp and apply new ideas, communicate with various personalities at all levels and have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to work in an office environment, and the noise level is usually moderate to loud.
